At 25 €, the Grotte de Champ Retard via ferrata is one of the most accessible entry points into vertical terrain in Burgundy. Open to all fitness levels, it runs 2.5h to 3h and covers the iron-clipped routes above the cave system in Coutarnoux. Guides operate in French, English and German, so language is never a barrier. Book ahead for summer weekends: with only 1 slot available on BoldTrip Rush, availability moves fast.
